Play89 Tournaments join now
A Pool Tournament, is a competition between several players who compete in separate matches. The winners within each match go on to compete against each other until the final winner is announced based on the rules of the specific tournament.
Participating in an online Tournament holds a great advantage since the players can enjoy all the fun and excitement of the competition within the comfort of their homes, without having the hassle and expenses of traveling to remote locations.
Play 89 holds a variety of tournaments every day. These allow our players to compete at different levels, improve their game, meet new playing partners, and even win an award.

Play89's Sit & Go Tournaments

In this tournament, the number of players can range between 4-64. However the number of players competing in each individual tournament has to be determined before the tournament begins.

Play89's Event Tournaments
This tournament takes place at a time and date that were determined in advance. The more players sign up, the larger the prizes.

Play89's Swing Tournaments
In a Swing Tournament all players start the games with an equal amount of chips and proceed to play until they loose all their chips. The winner of the tournament is the player who won all the chips.
The rules are:
- You can continue playing as long as you still have chips.
- Players are selected for matches at random.
- Each match begins with an initial stake according to the set CPP* .
- If one of the players has less chips than the set CPP at the beginning of a game, the initial stake would be the sum of his remaining chips.
- The CPP can be raised during the tournament, but not during a single match.
The player's rating will be modified at the end of each game.

*Chips Per Point: the number of chips that each point of the game is worth. This value does not change in the middle of an ongoing game. If you won a regular game and the CPP was equal to 100 and the doubling cube was at 2, you win 200 chips.
